McDonald’s has placed a large order for Samsung Galaxy tablets to kit out its restaurants across the UK.
The fast food giant has partnered with a supplier named SOTI to bring an ‘Experience of the Future’ to its British locations.
The company plans to install the tablets “in the majority of its UK restaurants”, according to SOTI.
McDonald’s plans to let customers use the tablets to “play games, use social media or browse the web” while chowing down.
“The tablets form an important part of our new customer experience initiative,” explains Doug Baker, McDonald’s Head of IT Restaurant Solutions and Service in the UK.

Baker continues: “We pride ourselves on listening to customers and providing an outstanding experience; innovations such as tablets help provide this experience and have been extremely popular with customers.”
The tablets were initially trialled on a small scale in 2015, and was so successful that McDonald’s is now investing heavily in the on-table tech.
There’s no word yet on whether Happy Meals will include a free Samsung Galaxy tablet. We wouldn’t count on it…
