Samsung’s next tablet release could be the thinnest we’ve ever seen from the Korean tech giant… or any other company for that matter.
The oft-leaked Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 seems to have peeked out its head once again and this time it may have brought some vital stats along for the ride.
According to the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center in China (via TechRadar), the Tab S2 will be 198mm x 134mm x… and wait for it… just 5.4mm thick.
If legitimate, that’d make it the thinnest tablet on earth, much slimmer than the iPad Air 2, which is 6.1mm and even beating out the current record-setter, the 6.0mm Dell Venue 8 7000. According to the purported spec sheet, it’ll also arrive with a 1536 x 1048 display, with 8- and 9.7-inch versions also on the way.
With an 8-megapixel snapper and a 2-megapixel front-loaded sensor on board, it’ll also pack 16GB of storage that’s expandable via a Micro SD slot, according to the leak. Naturally there’ll be Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE and all that other good stuff.
Following the earlier photo leaks (see above) it seems we probably won’t have to wait too long for Samsung to drop the Galaxy Tab S2. However, the refreshed tablets aren’t the only products rumoured to be launching imminently.
It is widely expected the firm’s next Gear watch, complete with the rotating UI bezel prefaced by the firm’s recent correspondence with developers is also set to land before the summer is out.
Just yesterday it was also rumoured the firm is plotting an S Pen-less, 5.5-inch Galaxy A8 in an attempt to counter the popularity of the iPhone 6.

With around three months left until IFA 2015 kicks off in Berlin, it would be surprising if Samsung was to hold out on all three fronts until then. Watch this space.
