The first Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 press render has appeared online, giving us an early look as to what Samsung has in store for its 2014 Tab range.
Rumours suggested that Samsung would unveil the new Galaxy Tab 4 range at MWC 2014 last month, but it seems the South Korean electronics giant has other plans.
At least now we have some idea of what the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will look like come launch.
Notorious tech tipster @evleaks has provided us with a press render of the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, which suggests Samsung will not deviate from the current design of the Tab tablet series.
The image shows that the Tab 4 7.0 will include a physical home button and two capacitive touch buttons. You can see a power button at the top and a volume rocker on the right hand side too, like we’re accustomed to.
We’re heavily expecting Samsung to introduce the fake leather effect to the rear of the Galaxy Tab 4 devices, but we can’t see that from this press render.
We can see the brand new Touchwiz wallpaper featured with the Samsung Galaxy S5 though, so expect those new features to be present.
Samsung accidentally mentioned the Galaxy Tab 4 range (Tab 4 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1) on the official Samsung website in a list of compatible devices for the Samsung Gear Fit, despite the tablets being still unannounced.
Back in February, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 specs were leaked and suggested the tablet would pack rather uninspiring mid-range specs.
According to those specs, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will feature a 7-inch 1280 x 800p HD display powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Apparently there will also be an4G LTE compatible model, which will have slightly more RAM (1.5GB).
It will also feature a 3-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper and microSD card support up to 64GB.
Android 4.4 KitKat is tipped to come pre-installed and it will be powered by a 6,800mAh battery.
