Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids UK release date announced

Samsung has announced the UK release date for its child-friendly Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will be available in the UK from November 1 online and November 8 in stores such as Toys R Us, Argos, Shop Direct, Dixons, JLP and Asda.

“We’re seeing technology become ever more popular with children, and wanted to create a tablet that provides kids with interactive and educational content with the added benefit of giving parents control over their children’s tab use,” said Simon Stanford, Vice President of IT & Mobile Division.

“Parents played a huge part in the design process, and as a result the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is a unique product that is both a fun and exciting piece of technology for kids to use and a device that parents can trust.”

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Features
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids features a child-friendly design with a special rubber bumper surrounding a 7-inch 1024 x 600p resolution display.

It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor under the hood with 1GB of RAM and comes with a 3-megapixel rear camera. Up front is a 1.3-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes pre-installed with a load of child-safe educational apps, games, entertainment apps and eBooks.

Samsung has introduced a time management feature with the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids that can be used to monitor the amount of time a child spends on the tablet, and locking it once that designated time has been used up.

The Application Manager also enables parents to select apps that their children can access from the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids.

Offering a 4,000mAh battery, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids has 8GB of microSD expandable storage and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
