The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Ice Cream Sandwich update is here. Some versions of the tablet have reportedly already received the new software.
Gotta Be Mobile writes that the UK version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is among the versions to have been given the update treatment. If your Tab is not yet updated, look for the software update option within the settings menu. Alternatively, you can get the update by synchronising the tablet over Kies, the desktop app.
After updating, you'll be upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. It's not the very latest version of Google's OS - Jelly Bean 4.1 is already available in the Google Nexus 7 - but is a significant upgrade over Honeycomb.
The Italian Wi-Fi edition of the tablet has also been given the upgrade, if you own an import, although the US version is apparently yet to receive the upgrade. This could potentially have something to do with the legal case currently being fought between Samsung and Apple - a patent dispute that could see several Samsung devices taken off the shelves in the US.
Improvements that'll come with the update include a tweaked user interface, better management of data usage and an improved web browser. Already have the update installed? Let us know in the comments.
