Samsung’s next flagship could be here in a matter of months, but what will it look like?
New renders that purportedly reveal the design of the Samsung Galaxy S7 have been leaked.
The images, which were provided to an accessories manufacturer, were first published by tech site GSMArena.
The renders don’t look much different from the Samsung Galaxy S6, but there are two minor changes worth noting:
- The home button is less curvy, more rectangular
- The SIM slot has been moved to the side of the handset
The report also claims that the Galaxy S7 dimensions will be 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94mm, which is very close to the Galaxy S6’s dimensions of 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm.
This gels with a previous rumour that the Samsung Galaxy S7 would retain the same design of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

So how likely is it that these renders are legitimate? Unfortunately, it’s tough to say right now.
Design renders are often given to case makers ahead of release, to give vendors time to develop products for launch.
However, we may still be months away from launch, and renders are notoriously easy to fabricate.
As such, we’d recommend taking these images with a pinch of salt – more reliable leaks will trickle out in 2016.
