The Samsung Galaxy S7 has leaked yet again. But this leak shows a very interesting tidbit.
According to photos and a video posted by Android Authority, the S7 will have a microSD card slot. That might not sound earth shattering, but Samsung dropped expandable storage from the Galaxy S6 range, much to the ire of its fans. So bringing it back would be welcomed by many Android users.
The photos show what purports to be the Galaxy S7 complete with a two-in-one SIM card tray. That means your microSD card would sit right next to your SIM.
The Galaxy S5 and previous S range handsets featured removable plastic backs that you prised off to slot in a memory card. They felt a bit cheap and tacky. Samsung, keen to make its phones feel more premium – and more like they should feel, considering the high prices they command – replaced this with a non-removable metal back, just like the iPhone. This meant no expandable storage, and no removable battery.
A two-in-one tray would be a smart workaround, allowing it to keep the metal back while also enabling extra storage.
The snaps also show the handset has a slightly different design to the S6, with 2.5D glass, a metal frame, and a slightly elongated home button.
We also see the latest version of Touchwiz running in the video. You can see it at the bottom of this story.
