Samsung could be preparing a 5.7-inch display option for its next flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S7.
We've already heard a report over the Christmas period suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will come in two sizes, rather like recent iPhone releases. However, this last report suggested that the largest Galaxy S7 would feature a 5.5-inch display.
Now a freshly leaked screenshot provided by SamMobile contains alleged specs for the new phone. It seems to show a Samsung Galaxy S7 variant with a 5.7-inch QHD display.
Another interesting component mentioned here is the Samsung Galaxy S7's camera. While last year's Samsung Galaxy S6 family all sported 16-megapixel main cameras, the new phone will apparently feature a 12.2-megapixel camera.
This would represent a significant drop in megapixel count for the new flagship. Of course, this could point to a new kind of image sensor with larger pixels and improved low-light performance, but Samsung's recently announced Britecell sensor actually had smaller pixels. We'll have to wait and see on that one.
Elsewhere, the leaked image confirms that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will run on a Snapdragon 820 CPU, which will be backed by a healthy 4GB of RAM.
Expect Samsung to officially unveil the Galaxy S7 at a special Unpacked event ahead of MWC 2016 next month.
