Samsung Galaxy S7 could be ready in December

Samsung’s Galaxy S-series devices usually fall in the second quarter every year.

The Galaxy S7 might eschew the trend however, thanks to reports of a nippy new development process.

According to a new report from Korea (via Sammobile), Samsung has changed from the “Waterfall” process to the “Agile” approach to developing devices.

It’s claimed that this could shorten development of the Galaxy S7 by one or two months.

The report describes the “Agile” methodology as splitting projects into modules that are completed “as fast as possible”.

Apparently, this means we may see Samsung completing development of the Galaxy S7 as soon as December.

In turn, that means we could see the device launched in the first quarter of the year, perhaps unveiled as soon as January’s CES tradeshow.

Of course, Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed any of this information, so do take it with a pinch of salt.

Also, Samsung moving its Galaxy S7 forward too much could work to cannibalise the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ handsets.

It’s worth noting however, that Samsung is reportedly launching its Note 5 earlier than usual, so a pushed-up Galaxy S7 could be a response to that.
