Samsung Galaxy S6 release date and features tipped yet again

Details of the Samsung Galaxy S6 have been purportedly outed yet again by alleged insider sources.

According to HDBlog, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will see its official launch date fall in Q2 2015 – no surprise there.

While it’s tough to trust the rumour-spinners of the internet, this theory does hold its ground. For starters, we’ve heard the same rumour before.

It’s also worth remembering that Samsung is prone to launching its flagship device around Q2 – the S5 was released on April 11, the S4 on March 14, the S3 on May 3, so on, so forth.

Also amongst the wisdoms proffered by this week’s crystal ball was the possibility of Samsung launching a dual-edged device – think Galaxy Note Edge, doubled-down.

The sources cited were keen to point out that both variants of the Galaxy S6 – powered by Exynos and Snapdragon chips respectively – would tout the curved dual-edge display.

Such a move has already been hinted at by other sources, so it’ll be interesting to see if Samsung follows through on the chatter and makes good on its foray into curved displays.

The final titbit of info dragged off the grapevine was that the Galaxy S6 would boast an entirely metal chassis – also previously rumoured.

This would mean Samsung would be taking a leaf out of its Galaxy Alpha’s book, and ditching the oft-scorned design strategy of coating everything in plastic.
