After endless leaks and countless rumours, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has been officially unveiled, with its dual-side-incorporating screen making an unsurprising appearance.
Debuting alongside the flagship Galaxy S6, the Edge is the next evolution of the screen technology first introduced on the Galaxy Note Edge last September.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Features
The Galaxy S6 Edge is defined by its innovative screen, so that’s where we’ll start. The 5.1-inch panel is about far more than the curves around its left and right sides.
The display features and LG G3-mimicking 2560 x 1440 pixel, QHD resolution and a stunningly sharp 577ppi image density.
Beyond the screen, the Galaxy S6 Edge is largely similar to its flagship sibling, the standard Galaxy S6.
With a 16-megapixel, OIS-enhanced camera lining up on the rear, an f/1.9 aperture incorporating 5-megapixel snapper sits up front. Both can launch in under 1 second and tout improved low-light shooting options.
Built around a similar design concept to the S6, the Edge pairs a metal edge with flowing curves. Given its display, however, the Edge is marginally chunkier at a still super svelte 7mm – up on the S6’s 6.8mm form.
Unlike past Samsung handsets, the S6 Edge does not feature a removable rear panel meaning the battery is locked in place.
Fortunately, the 2600mAh battery benefits from advanced quick charge capabilities. According to the Korean manufacturer, a 10 minute charge can provide 4 hours of use and a full charge will take around half the time as it would to fully charge an iPhone 6.
Under the hood, Samsung has turned its back on Qualcomm to offer its own Exynos chip. This 64-bit, octa-core processor features a 2.1GHz quad-core stack alongside a 1.5GHz quad-core unit for powerful processing and impressive battery management.
Rounding of the Galaxy S6 Edge’s specs sheet, Android Lollipop is joined by a stripped back TouchWiz UI.
As there’s no microSD storage expansion, the Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options.
