The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has received certification in Malaysia ahead of its unveiling on Thursday.
Samsung will almost certainly be unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 at a special event on August 13.
We’ve already seen pretty much all there is to see of the Galaxy Note 5, even down to its packaging. We’ve seen a little less of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, however, which makes any fresh info that little bit more interesting.
As Phone Arena points out, Malaysia’s SIRIM agency has just approved the S6 Edge Plus for release. We already kind of knew that it would be making an appearance on Thursday, but this pretty much seals it.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will essentially be a super-sized Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Leaked snaps show a device that’s nigh-on identical to Samsung’s curvaceous flagship smartphone, but with a 5.7-inch QHD display in place of a 5.1-inch example.
It’ll also have pretty much identical specs to the existing Samsung Galaxy S6 range, which is no bad thing.
Unlike the Galaxy Note 5, however, we’re not expecting to see an S Pen stylus with the new curved-screen phablet.

Another interesting morsel of information to emerge from this Malaysian certification is the fact that there’ll be a dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. This suggests that there could indeed be space for a microSD card in there, if Samsung utilises a two-in-one SIM/microSD port.
That alone could be enough to persuade Samsung Galaxy S6 doubters to adopt the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
