Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition officially unveiled

Just as we expected, Samsung has announced an Iron Man edition of its swanky Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone.

Samsung has been teasing its new Marvel-themed line of flagship phones for some time now. It even announced its imminent arrival as “coming next week” just a few days ago.

So it’s with zero surprise that we can confirm the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition has been officially unveiled.

“Samsung and Marvel have come together in celebration of the technological innovation and creative visual storytelling in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron to introduce this limited edition of the Galaxy S6 edge,” said Samsung‘s Younghee Lee.

“The limited edition Iron Man Galaxy S6 edge embodies the power of the iconic Avenger with a dual-curved edge design and advanced features that will provide Marvel fans with the ultimate entertainment experience.”

What that translates to is a standard Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with a red front and back, and a gold-colour metallic surround. It also has an image of Iron Man’s face on the back of the phone where the Samsung label should be.

One other fairly cool touch is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition comes with a wireless charging pad styled after an arc reactor. You also get a clear cover for the phone, so that you don’t cover up that glitzy colour scheme. Tony Stark would no doubt approve.

Alas for western Marvel fans, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition has only been announced for release in South Korea on May 27, with China and Hong Kong following in June.
