Various reports over recent days suggest that there’s an irritating auto-rotate bug affecting some Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge handsets.

All of which adds a little bite to reports of bugs and issues. One such problem has emerged in recent days in the form of some Galaxy S6 Edge handsets that refuse to auto-rotate.
According to various users across several Android forums, the device tends to work fine for a day or two, before sticking in the standard portrait view.
This affects everything, including the YouTube app and the camera app, which suggests that it’s a general issue with the accelerometer – or at least its software.
Neither rebooting the device nor a complete factory reset appears to rectify matters.

According to Droid-life, the problem seems to be affecting Verizon and Sprint in the US. It’s possible that it’s specific to those networks and their own custom software tweaks, but we’ll have to keep an eye out for any similar UK issues.
Both Samsung and the networks in question appear to be aware of the issue, so you can bet that a fix is in the works – and that a swift exchange or refund is possible for those affected.
