New Samsung Galaxy S5 features have been confirmed, with Samsung stating that the phone will not host a fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 5S.
With Apple having officially launched the iPhone 5S earlier this month with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner in tow, it had been suggested that Samsung’s next flagship phone could also incorporate a biometric security measure, but the Korean manufacturer has since rubbished this.
According to the Korean Herald, the Samsung Galaxy S5 features list will not include an integrated fingerprint scanner, with the upcoming handset to instead look for further developments, updates and breakthroughs elsewhere.

With the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 3 having also been tipped to host a fingerprint sensor, the official added: “We never officially admitted that Samsung was weighing the fingerprint system and Knox for Galaxy Note 3 for security functions.”
Although the phone is yet to be officially confirmed, a number of Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have been doing the rounds in recent weeks, with the phone widely expected to be upgraded to a new metal body, similar to that on the HTC One.
With a Samsung Galaxy S5 release date widely expected for the March/April time next year, it has been suggested that the phone will pack an eight-core processor alongside an improved camera sensor and a larger 5.2-inch display.
