Samsung Galaxy S4 to add Blue Artic colour option

A new Samsung Galaxy S4 is on the cards, with a Blue Artic colour option leaking as an addition to the current Black Mist and White Frost hues on offer.

With Samsung having dropped the Pebble Blue colour scheme found on the Samsung Galaxy S3 ahead of the S4’s launch, instead opting for more traditional black and white models, the South Korean manufacturer looks set to bring a blue device back to market, with a Blue Artic S4 leaking online.

Seemingly set to be formally unveiled later this week, the Blue Artic Samsung Galaxy S4 has leaked courtesy of Japanese network provider NTT Docomo, with Samsung tipsters SammyHub reporting that the device will be officially showcased on May 15.

Although the device has yet to be formally confirmed, it is claimed that the Blue Artic S4 will land with a period of exclusivity for Japanese markets, with a more widespread rollout to take place later in the year.

Having faced continuing delays with the Pebble Blue Samsung Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 10.1 creator confirmed that manufacturing issues in matching the colour of the handset’s removable rear panel with the body material had caused it to scrap the blue colour from its S4 launch line up.

Far from the first time Samsung has added new colour schemes to its flagship smartphone line-up, the Samsung Galaxy S3, although original launching in Pebble Blue and Marble White options, eventually added black, brown, pink and red colours to its selection.

Launching in the UK late last month, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a true leader of the smartphone scene, with a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and 2GB of RAM running the show alongside Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Measuring in at just 7.9mm thick, the plastic clad Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, with the vibrant screen featuring a stunning 1920 x 1080p Full HD resolution, 441 pixels-per-inch image density and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective coating.

With a 13-megapixel lining up on the rear, and a second, 2-megapixel snapper up front, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features list is further enhanced by 4G and NFC connectivity options, as well as the choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage capacities.
