Samsung has released a teaser image for the Samsung Galaxy S4 ahead of its official unveiling on Thursday.
The main image was posted on the Samsung Mobile US Twitter account, along with the message: “The countdown for #TheNextBigThing has begun. Who’s ready for the Global Unpacked Event on March 14?”
Last year, the phrase “The next big thing is already here” was used to advertise the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3, so if there was any doubt that this image – and indeed the whole Unpacked event – was for the Samsung Galaxy S4, well, there shouldn’t be.
As for the image, you can’t see much of the handset (hey, it’s a teaser), but it appears to tally with yesterday’s leaked pictures. Detailed shots of a Samsung handset were posted on a Chinese forum, and they appeared to be of the new Samsung Galaxy S4.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Specs
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to sport a 5-inch 1080p display, a 1.8GHz quad-core Exynos CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera. It should run on an iteration of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which contains some considerable performance improvements over 4.1.
Rumour has it that Samsung is going for software innovation far more than it is hardware innovation, so we’re expecting a device that looks and feels pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3 – something that was only confirmed by those recently leaked photos.
