UPDATED: Read our hands on of the Galaxy S4 - no more rumours or speculation - Samsung Galaxy S4 Review
The leaked pictures, video and specs, as well as the strong rumours that some samples have escaped Samsung, mean the comprehensive review is very likely legitimate.
The review supports many of the rumours which have appeared on the internet over the prior weeks and months. It claims the Galaxy S4 houses an eight-core Samsung Exynos 5410 running at 1.8GHz and a triple-core PowerVR SGX 544 graphics chip, similar to the GPU which powers the iPhone 5, but running at a much faster 533Mhz. The Galaxy S4 also doubles up on RAM with 2GB as opposed to the 1GB found in the Galaxy S3. Continuing the impressive specs list is the battery which holds a bit more juice than most of its competitors at 2600mAh.
Detailed information is also provided about a number of other other specs and features. The screen is confirmed as a 5-inch (4.99-inch if we’re being pedantic) Full HD 1920x1080 PHOLED display. The rear camera boasts a 13 megapixel sensor while the front camera is 2 megapixel.
While the bigger screen on the Galaxy S4 means it is somewhat larger than its predecessor it is actually thinner. According to the review the Galaxy S4 measures 140.1mm tall by 71.8 wide by 7.7mm thick. This makes it 3.5mm taller and 1.2mm wider than the S3, but actually 0.9mm thinner.
The review also shows evidence of the eye tracking software which allows users to pause video or scroll down a page without having to touch the screen as well as proximity detection, allowing hover over functions similar to the ones found in the Galaxy Note 2’s S-Pen.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 launch event starts at 11pm GMT with an exclusive event in New York.
