A Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will be held in April 2013 as the Korean handset manufacturer looks to build on the continued success of the Samsung Galaxy S3, new rumours have suggested.

The fourth handset in Samsung’s flagship line of leading Android smartphones, new Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours have suggested that the next-generation iPhone 5 rival will be officially unveiled in just four months’ time with the eagerly awaited device to come packing a high-end collection of innards.

Far from the first time a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date has been speculated on, repeated Samsung rumour mongers Sammobile have cited unnamed Korean insiders in suggesting that “Samsung is having plans to announce the next Galaxy S in April.”

Contradicting previous reports that a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date would be held in March 2013, the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours continue the belief that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 manufacturer will once again forgo an MWC unveiling in favour of its own, high-profile launch event in the months that follow.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumours

Although the latest insider reports have failed to offer much insight into the expected, but as yet unconfirmed, device beyond the claimed Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, recent rumours have hinted at a collection of the tipped Samsung Galaxy S4 specs.

Once again expected to increase in size, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features list has been rumoured to be lead off by an expansive Full HD 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a stunning 1920 x 1080p image resolution. A 2GHz quad-core A15 processor has also reportedly been given the nod for inclusion on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Elsewhere, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is believed to be heading for launch with an as yet unreleased iteration of Google’s Android OS in two whilst a revamped 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera also looks set for inclusion.

1080p in a 5" screen is only useful for marketing purposes.

I have an S3 and would prefer the S4 to have the same resolution or perhaps 1280x800. But that's not sexy so they have to increase it for the sake of increasing it.

I agree - Ideally I'd like them to drop back to 4.3" with some sort of retina spec display, high processing/storage specs and have a great camera. And a metal chassis.

This move towards Phablets just winds me up - if you want a reasonably sized phone you seem to have to compromise on specs - that seems unfair.

I can't see what value a 5" screen is to anyone, it is simply too big. Too big for my pockets and too big to operate with one hand, this isn't a phone it is a mini-tablet.

Samsung, HTC, please can I have a smartphone with top of the range features in a 4" screen with kick ass PPI?

Please turn off those dam sliding adverts either side of the articles. It is almost impossible to concentrate on the text AND I STILL WON'T READ THE BLOODY ADS. If I did read the ads, it would certainly be to ensure that I NEVER buy the product.

I'd rather not wait for this phone seeing how i need a new one soon since my droid charge has been destroyed by its upgrade to 2.3 awhile back, so may just go for the note 2 or s3. BTW if you dont like phablets just go get a smaller phone and deal with the hardware it comes with. Its not like building a computer, if youre picky on specs you have to deal with what your given by the manufactors of the phone. Its the reason why im skeptical on getting the note 2 since the size isnt nessecary for my uses but i love the included software
