A move that would be sure to cannibalise sales of the handset’s flagship sibling ahead of the upcoming April 26 Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, latest reports have suggest that, having grown tired of the device repeatedly leaking online, the South Korean manufacturer has brought forward the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini launch.
Citing unnamed “insiders,” hit and miss Samsung tipster SamMobile has suggested that “Samsung wants to introduce the Galaxy S4 Mini this week.”
Although it has been suggested that the handset will be formally unveiled later this week as a cut-price, reduced-spec rendition of the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4, it is reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date will not be held until the end of May or early June, a little over a month after the S4 lands.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Specs
Whilst the handset has yet to be formally unveiled, a selection of claimed Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini specs have already done the rounds online, pegging the device as a rather average mid-range handset.
Whereas the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a 5-inch smartphone powerhouse bestowed with an eight-core processor in some territories (unfortunately not the UK), the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, likes the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini before it, looks set to be a more understated affair with a now average 4.3-inch qHD display reportedly set to be partnered with an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
As previously reported, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be made in both standard single and dual-SIM renditions with the two models featuring quad-core and dual-core processors respectively. Running Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is also set to be made available in the same Black Mist and White Frost colour options as its superior sibling.
Although Samsung could well be tiring on the times the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini leaks prior to its formal unveiling, in truth we can’t see these rumours coming to fruition and expect the S4 Mini to be announced after the S4 release date later this month.
