Barely a week has passed since Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 smartphone in New York, but that hasn't stopped the rumoured Galaxy S4 Mini, has apparently breaking cover, with leaked photos appearing on Twitter.
SamMobile has received pictures from one of its Twitter followers, a chap named Ermek Kubanychbekov, who claims to be wielding the scaled-back version of the Galaxy S4, running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The images show the purported device alongside the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the new Samsung Galaxy S4 and, as you'd expect, the device looks an awful lot like a miniature S4, complete with the webbed back cover and flat edges.
Earlier rumours have suggested that the Galaxy S4 Mini, identified within the leaked pictures as the GT-i9190, will launch in June or July - just over two months after the flagship handset goes on sale on April 26th.
It's said to rock a 4.3-inch, 960x540, qHD display, with a pixel density of 255ppi and a 1.66GHz dual-core processor. It'll also be dual-SIM compatible accounting to the SamMobile report.
The launch would be no surprise at all, considering Samsung has already had one crack at a scaled back version of its flagship smartphone.
Last year the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini arrived promising all of the functionality and design hallmarks offered by the S3 only with a smaller, lower-resolution display and less impressive innards. It failed to impress, scoring a modest 6/10 in our review.
Indeed, the S3 Mini wasn't the biggest success of an extremely successful 2012 for the Korean giant, so it'll be interesting to see whether the S4 Mini - if these snaps prove to be the real deal - fares any better among consumers in 2013.
Do you think the pics are the real deal? The guy does have an as-yet-unavailable Galaxy S4 which would suggest he has access of some sort. Let us know in the comments section below.
