Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release could land alongside plus sized S4 Mega

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release could see the sub-sized handset share the limelight, as a gargantuan Samsung Galaxy S4 Mega is also tipped for launch.

Both direct spinoffs of the existing Samsung Galaxy S4, the S4 Mini and S4 Mega have appeared alongside their inspiration in a leaked image render which has started doing the rounds online.

Hitting the web courtesy of MobiLeaks, the Dutch website has cited unnamed sources in suggesting that the S4 Mini will hit retailers in the near future hosting a 4.3-inch display whilst the recently rumoured Samsung Galaxy S4 Mega will feature a 6-inch screen.

A translation of the reports stated: “There are no specifications known of this mysterious Samsung Galaxy S4 Mega, but presumably that the 6.0 inch screen has a Full HD resolution.”

While neither the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini or Mega have as yet been formally unveiled, yesterday Samsung confirmed that it will reveal new Galaxy branded handsets at a London based launch event next month. Set to be held at Earls Court on June 20, the Samsung Galaxy launch event will also see the South Korean manufacturer bring new Windows Phone 8 powered Ativ handsets to market.

Far from the only S4 themed devices to reportedly be in the works, Samsung looks set to milk dry the cash cow that is its flagship handset brand. With a Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom expected to host a 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera with optical zoom, the mooted Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has been tipped to sport a ruggedized, life-proof construction.

Although being touted as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mega, the leaked 6-inch handset fits the impression laid out by recent Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumours, with an S4 style design aesthetic paired with a 6-inch screen. Needless to say, such reports and ‘leaks’ should be taken with a healthy serving of salt.
