The first hands-on video of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 could have leaked on the internet, just two days before the official launch on Thursday.
The supposed Samsung Galaxy S4 hands-on was posted on YouTube, potentially from the same source as yesterday’s leaked photos.
Although the footage is rather amateur, shot in portrait mode obviously from a smartphone device, the Samsung Galaxy S4 handset shown is very similar to the official Samsung photo teaser shown today, and much akin to a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 handset.
The video shows the battery being put in, rear cover clicked into place and then the flagship handset is booted up. The upcoming TouchWiz UI is then on display, alongside a quick camera demo, and a run-through through the home screen, dialler and settings menu. This latter shot quickly confirms that the upcoming flagship handset should wield NFC technology and could run the latest Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
Currently rumoured to come in black and white colour options, the handset shown actually has a white back cover and black front facia, which seems a little odd.
Of course, this hands-on has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as it may not be representative of the final product we could see Samsung launch on Thursday. The model number shown is GT-I9502, rather than the GT-I9005 we’ve come to associate with the Samsung Galaxy S4, so this could just be a hands-on video with a test prototype for the Chinese mobile network Unicom.
This particular version also seems to be a dual SIM card model, with two SIM card slots beneath the rear plastic plate.
With the official Samsung Galaxy S4 launch occurring this week, rumours surrounding the upcoming flagship handset wil soon be put to rest. The much debated and eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 could play host to an eight-core Exynos 5 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear mounted camera and Samsung’s new TouchWiz 6.0 UI to boot. The flagship should also pack a Full 1080p HD 4.99-inch display and slim body.
