The flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 handset has been subjected to a variety of knife attacks in a scratch-test video that has appeared online.
The video appeared on YouTube courtesy of SamsungMobilers.co.uk blogger, Szabolcs Ignacz, who claims to have received the Samsung Galaxy S4 as part of Samsung program that releases new tech to bloggers pre-launch.
Ignacz lines up three types of knives, a metal nib pen, a set of keys and some coins to test the Samsung Galaxy S4’s Gorilla Glass 3 screen from Corning.
Marketed as “tough” and “evolved”, Corning says Gorilla Glass 3, strengthened from the inside out with Native Damage Resistance technology, is capable of offering “improved scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility, and improved retained strength.”
Although it doesn’t look like Ignacz is applying a huge amount of pressure on the Gorilla Glass 3 screen, and many commenters have been suggesting he should have used sand or other household items too, it does prove that the Samsung Galaxy S4 can survive in a pocket jingling with keys and coins.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Features
Underneath that Gorilla Glass covering, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch Full 1080p HD Super AMOLED display with a 441ppi image density. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, rather than the 1.6Ghz Exynos 5 eight-core originally promised.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 13-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing snapper within a 7.9mm thick body and will pack a 2,600mAh battery. Internal storage options of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB are furthered expanded by the addition of a microSD card slot.
The flagship also packs 4G LTE, IR LED, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is set for Friday, with a wide range of UK network providers offering the flagship handset.
