Samsung Galaxy S4 games to see 16 EA titles available at launch

In the wake of the recent Samsung Galaxy S4 unveiling, publisher EA has revealed it has expanded its relationship with the South Korean manufacturer and will offer 16 Samsung Galaxy S4 games at launch.

Set to be available through the Google Play Store for a raft of Android powered handsets, EA has revealed that it will make 16 of its much loved mobile titles fully compatible with the 5-inch, eight-core Samsung Galaxy S4 for when the HTC One and iPhone 5 rival hits retailers in April.

“We’re delighted to be partnered with Samsung to bring some of our fans’ favourite mobile gaming titles to the Samsung Galaxy S4 in time for launch,” EA’s Vice President of new platforms, Glenn Roland said.

He added: “The device’s higher resolution, larger screen and increased processing power will give our games an opportunity to look even more beautiful for Samsung consumers.”

Optimising a wide selection of its mobile offerings for the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 follow-on, EA has confirmed that the launch selection of Samsung Galaxy S4 games will include the high-powered likes of Real Racing 3 and more traditional smartphone offerings such as Plants vs. Zombies.

Further Samsung Galaxy S4 games to be available at lunch include The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Tetris Blitz, Bejeweled Blitz and Monopoly.

Formally unveiled at a dedicated New York launch event last week, the Samsung Galaxy S4 UK release date has been confirmed for April 26, with the next-gen handset set to make a considerable dent in the wallets of wannabe owners.

According to online retailers, who have jumped the gun of official confirmation, the Samsung Galaxy S4 price tag will see the octa-core smartphone cost a hefty £530 on a SIM-free basis.

Running a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera within its 7.9mm thick, plastic construction body, the Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet is a what’s what of high-end components. The world’s first eight-core smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4 processor clocks in at 1.6GHz and sees four big cores providing the grunt whilst four smaller cores offer improved power options.

With a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display taking pride of place with a 1920 x 1080p Full HD resolution and a stunning 441 pixels-per-inch image density, the Samsung Galaxy S4 screen further benefits from a new Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective coating.

Playing host to 2GB of RAM and the option of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage options, all expandable via microSD card inclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features list is completed by a 2-megapixel forward-facing camera and a raft of innovative new software features, including Dual Camera shooting and eye-tracking Smart Pause and Smart Scroll capabilities.
