Samsung Galaxy S4 Active release date tipped for July 1 in the UK

Following the handset’s formal unveiling yesterday, a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active release date has been rumoured for July 1.

With Samsung having yet to confirm a precise Samsung Galaxy S4 Active release date, reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 spinoff will hit the UK in a matter of weeks, landing in retailers from Monday July 1.

A water, dust and drop proof remake of the flagship S4, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active boasts IP67 protection and many of the high-end features and components that are present on its iPhone 5 and HTC One rivalling sibling.

The early July release date, which has been mooted by serial Samsung rumourmonger SamMobile, fits with the Korean manufacturer’s promise to hold a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active release date during the summer.  The handset is one of many devices set to be formally showcased during the handsets

Citing an unnamed “well-known source, the serial Samsung tipsters have claimed that “the Galaxy S4 Active will be released in the UK on July 1st.” We must stress that this has yet to be confirmed and, given the source’s history, might want to be taken lightly.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Features
Capable of being submerged in up to 1 metre of water for half an hour without damage, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active runs Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and the same 1.9GHz quad-core processor as its title model sibling.

Having dropped the S4’s 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera in favour of an 8-megapixel offering, the 9.1mm thick, 151g in weight Samsung Galaxy S4 Active boasts a special Aqua Mode offering improved underwater snaps.

With 16GB of internal storage and a 2600mAh Lithium-Ion battery, the S4 Active specs sheet is rounded off by a 5-inch Full HD display, 2GB of RAM and a second 2.1-megapixel forward-facing camera.
