Samsung Galaxy S3 to Launch Tonight

The launch of the “Next Galaxy” happens tonight. Samsung is holding an event in London to celebrate the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S3, unless all this hoo-ha is about a new 8.756in Galaxy tablet.

More a heads-up than a brand-spanking new piece of hot-off-the-press news, we thought we’d give you a heads-up that the Samsung Galaxy S3 launch is happening tonight. We’ll be there will all the latest news and comment, as it’s released.
Galaxy S3
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to feature a 4.7in or 4.8in screen with a 720p AMOLED resolution display. This is a different screen type to that seen in the rival HTC One X and iPhone 4S. They use variations of the IPS screen type, which doesn’t have quite as deep black levels as OLED but often supplies a more natural-looking image. Other near-dead-cert features include the quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos 4420, which should significantly outperform the Tegra 3 chip seen in several other current tablets and smartphones. What are you looking forward to finding out? Let us know in the comments.

Samsung’s launch event kicks off at 7pm this evening. Grab yourself a cup of tea and a bag of popcorn and we’ll see you then.
