Samsung has confirmed its innovative Galaxy Note Edge phone will not go on sale in the UK until December 12.
The Galaxy Note 4 spin-off, which has a unique curved-edged screen featuring menus, vital stats and shortcuts, was scheduled to go on sale on November 28.
Now the firm has ‘fessed up to a two week delay before the handset hits Blighty.
That means users will not be able to pre-order the unique device from the Samsung eStore or Carphone Warehouse, until December 5, one week before the launch.
Samsung had planned to open online reservations on November 14, but that date passed without any sign of pre-orders.
The firm has offered no explanation for the delay, but given the unique form factor, it’s entirely possible that production is taking a little longer than usual.
The Korean company will have a somewhat limited release in the UK, given its experimental form factor and so far Vodafone is the only UK network which has committed to stocking the handset.
This isn’t the first time, Samsung has experienced release date woes in the last few months. It was forced to delay the release of the Galaxy Note 4 in the UK following its launch at IFA 2014.
Will you be pre-ordering the Galaxy Note Edge when it eventually goes up for pre-order on December 5 or will you wait for the next generation?
