ZeroLemon’s battery pack offers Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 5500mAh of extra juice

Big screens need a big battery to keep them lit up for a decent amount of time, which is why ZeroLemon has created a battery-boosting pack for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8

While our review of the Galaxy Note 8 was very positive, we noted that its battery life was distinctly average. When the Note 8’s 6.3-inch display is in its performance mode, running at the WQHD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440, the 3300mAh battery doesn’t last a day of decent use; hardly ideal for a device that has been championed as a smartphone for productivity.

ZeroLemon’s 5500mAh Lithium-ion battery adds a big dose of battery life to the Note 8, extending its battery by a claimed 120%, which adds up to more than 48 hours of talk time, 16 hours plus of movie watching on the phone, and 74 hours and more of music listening time.

The Galaxy Note 8 may offer rapid charging, but the ZeroLemon battery pack looks to be the accessory you’ll want if you have a Note 8 and plan to be away from a power socket for some time. The case also comes with four coloured LEDs to indicate how much charge it has left in it.

This extra battery life comes at the cost of making the Note 8 a bit bulkier and taller but ZeroLemon’s case has also been designed to allow files to be transferred between the phone and a computer without needing to remove the case, and the company notes it adds protection and scratch resistance to the Note 8.

ZeroLemon’s Note 8 battery pack is due for release October 5 and will set buyers back around $80/£60, but it’s currently up for pre-order at an introductory price of $39.99/£30, so if you want one for your Note 8 you’d best move quickly.
