The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now just days away, and the leaks are arriving in force.

Mobile giant South Korea Telecom has given the Galaxy Note 7 an early debut. The company posted a number of specification details about the phone prematurely, and even included a picture. The leak, first reported by Pastimelife.com, names the handset as ‘7’ (read: not 6) and tags it under the model number SM-N930S.

This leak largely confirms details we already knew, and lists the following specs:

  • QHD Super AMOLED display
  • Dimensions: 73.9 x 153.5 x 7.9mm
  • Storage: 64GB
  • Weight: 169 grams
  • Battery: 3,500mAh
  • Colours: Silver, gold, blue

Interestingly, the rumoured battery capacity (3,500mAh) is 100mAh less than the one featured in the Galaxy S7 Edge. That’s not necessarily an indicator of worse battery life, however. Battery life is affected by a number of things, including the efficiency of the screen, the processor and GPU, and optimisations made to the software. It’s also important to remember that the Galaxy Note 5 only shipped with a 3,000mAh battery.

no leak

The handset is also rumoured to be two grams lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5, and will reportedly feature a microSD slot that supports cards up to 256GB. There’s also reports of a stylus and 4GB of RAM, both of which are likely inclusions.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 at a dedicated launch event on August 2. The phone is unlikely to launch with the ‘Galaxy Note 6’ name, and is rumoured to feature a curved dual-edge display, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
