The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date could be held within days of the handset’s official unveiling this September, latest reports have suggested.
Although flagship Samsung handsets have traditionally hit retailers weeks, or even months after being publically showcased, it has been claimed the Note 4 will land within days of its first outing in order to stem the manufacturer’s slowing handset sales.
According to reports out of Samsung’s native Korea, the Galaxy Note 4 will be announced in the run up to IFA 2014 on September 3, with the phone to go on sale later the same month.
As well as looking to counter slow Samsung Galaxy S5 sales, ET News has suggested that the quick Note 4 release is also being planned in order to fend off impending competition from the iPhone 6 – with Apple tipped to launch a 5.5-inch iteration of its next handset.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours in recent weeks, with the phone tipped to retain the same 5.7-inch form factor of the existing Samsung Galaxy Note 3, albeit with an LG G3 rivalling 2560 x 1440p QHD display.
Expected to run the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, the Galaxy Note 4 has been mooted to be heading for launch in two guises, a typically Samsung, plastic-bodied offering and a more premium, metal clad Prime edition.
Earlier this month, Samsung teased promotion materials which suggested the Note 4 might land with iris-tracking sensors for an even more secure user experience.
