Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with 5.9-inch display set for private showing

Note 2

Samsung is set to reveal its Samsung Galaxy Note 3, complete with a 5.9-inch display, this week - but only to US network operator AT&T.

According to Korea Times's sources (including an executive at Samsung’s main parts supplier),Samsung will show off a mock-up of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to high-ranking AT&T officials during a meeting in Suwon this week.

As the second largest network operator in the US and a major seller of Samsung devices, it's easy to see why AT&T would merit such an early peek. However, the device they will be shown will not be a working one - it will simply show off the new phablet's design, with none of the internal technology incorporated.

The report also appears to support recent rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3's display would be a 5.9-inch model. For some time now, the weight of internet rumour has pointed towards an increase from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2's 5.5-inch display to a 6.3-inch example, but it appears as if a more modest increase is in order.

Apparently, the 6.3-inch display that Samsung is working on is for a later phablet device, which will apparently be a budget model. It will utilise an LCD panel rather than Samsung's expensive AMOLED technology.

What do you think of the news that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will feature a 5.9-inch display? Are smart devices getting too big now, or are you disappointed that the display won't be bigger? Let us know in the comments section below, or via the Trusted Reviews Twitter and Facebook feeds.

if it is coming up with 5.9", then I have to buy right away Huawei 6.1" smartphone as I need bigger screen in touchscreen smartphone for many reasons. I don't worry so much about application softwares as what Apple and Samsung claims all the time. All I need is I need browsing most of the time while I am on the move either on the road or in the office as I am in the money market for trading business.

Would update from Note II to an 6.3" but not if only 5.9 inch.

6.3" with the same form factor as the Note II would still be easy to hold.

And further a 7 inch tablet with the same bezel width in portrait mode as the Note II
would be a big success, as long as you can hold it comfortably i one hand.

All 7" tablets in the market have a bezel (in portrait mode) which is too wide
to hold with one hand. A full inch in width could be trimmed, even at the cost of
being a bit thicker.
