Samsung Galaxy Note 3 users can expect to see the Android 4.4 KitKat OS update arrive on their handsets in the very near future.

The latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is already available in Poland, with other countries to follow shortly.

Test firmware for the Note 3 was originally leaked over the weekend, but Samsung has now starting pushing it out via its Kies companion software.

As far as we know, the update is only available to unlocked Galaxy Note 3 models in Poland, with an over the air update soon to start.

Samsung will need time to release the updates across all markets, but you can expect it to be released to your UK Note 3 very soon.

The Android 4.4 KitKat update brings features like voice search, prioritised contacts based on your most recent communications and improved multitasking functionality.

Google has also introcued the ability for your phone to check local businesses for matches when you receive a call from an unknown number.

The most defining feature of Android KitKat is its ability to run on smartphones with limited RAM. In fact, KitKat can run on smartphones with only 512MB of RAM, making it easier for the update to be installed in a wider userbase.

“With KitKat, we’ve slimmed down Android’s memory footprint by doing things like removing unnecessary background serives and reducing the memory consumption of features that you use all the time,” said Google at launch.

The exceedingly success budget Motorola Moto G handset starting receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update earlier this week in the UK.
