Samsung Chromebook 2 images leak

Pictures of the new Samsung Chromebook 2 have emerged on line, signifying a new stylistic direction that will be familiar to fans of Samsung’s Note range.

The Samsung Chromebook 2 will sport a faux-leather back, which was a design touch kicked off by the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and continued through the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.

As revealed by a pair of tweets from @evleaks over the weekend, the next Samsung Chromebook will feature the company’s distinctive grippy-but-tacky rear covering with grey stitching.

Other than these images and the ‘Samsung Chromebook 2’ name, no further details or specifications have been confirmed for the new laptop.

The previous Samsung Chromebook ran on Samsung’s custom Exynos processor rather than the usual Intel offerings. Such a chip is typically found in Samsung’s top-end mobile device, but it seemed to run Google’s light-weight Chrome OS just fine.

We found the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook 303C (here’s hoping that new simplified name sticks) to be a super-portable and well-priced alternative to the usual Windows 8 and OS X contenders.

Let’s cross our fingers that this this latest model can continue the good work – questionable stylistic choices notwithstanding.
