We’re not sure that taking the mickey out of Apple and the loyalty of its customers is necessarily the best tactic for an advertising campaign, but Samsung seems to think differently.
Last November the smartphone maker released an ad for the Samsung Galaxy S II portraying Apple fans as lemmings, blinded by Apple’s marketing and it is set to repeat the act next week during the SuperBowl.
Samsung has released a teaser for the ad (above) which once again shows Apple customers lined up outside a shop in Austin, Texas awaiting a new launch. They spot a Samsung Galaxy S II and hear the turn-by-turn navigation which is a standard feature of Android.
Samsung and Apple have had their differences over the past 12 month with various legal battles continuing around the world. We can’t see this new ad helping the situation much.
The original Samsung ad in November was a hit, but another ad from last year’s Superbowl for the Motorola Xoom which also had a go at Apple, was less of a success.
