More information has emerged concerning Samsung’s much-rumoured 12-inch tablet - this time in the shape of its potential specifications.

Reports of a supposed 12-inch tablet from the Korean manufacturer have been circulating since the middle of last year, and have continued throughout this year.

Now those benchmark specialists at AnTuTu appear to have clocked some of the giant tablet’s specifications.

Apparently the device will feature a 12.2-inch 2560 x 1600 display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz. This will be supported by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. We’re trying to imagine the horrors of pulling out a 12.2-inch tablet to take some casual snaps, but it’s proving too traumatic.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 - as it could be called - will also apparently run on the very latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Of course, that’s set to change with the imminent launch of Android 4.4 KitKat, but Samsung devices (like most other Android manufacturers’ efforts) typically run a little behind due to its own heavy UI modification.

Samsung isn’t the only company with a super-sized tablet in the works, if the internet is to be believed. Back in May we reported on the latest mention of a so-called 'iPad Maxi.’ Apple is apparently working on a 12.9-inch tablet to add to the regular and mini versions in the range.

There’s no suggestion yet of a release date for Samsung's 12.2-inch tablet, but with both CES and Mobile World Congress taking place early in 2014 we could see something concrete over the coming months.
