Green Hornet 3D Blu-ray for round up

From the trailers, this comic book movie adaptation looked full of 3D promise. But it turns out to be yet another disappointment. It’s another film that was shot in 2D and converted into 3D, and this is apparent in lots of rather clumsy staging, which often fails to convey a believable sense of space and also sometimes gives undue emphasis to completely arbitrary, unimportant objects in the frame. The picture also tends to look unusually dark on active 3D TVs.

The only things about this hugely average film that work really well in 3D, in fact, are the scenes showing Kato getting his martial arts mojo on, and the film’s terrific credits sequence.
