Rise of the Tomb Raider play time to top 30 hours

Rise of the Tomb Raider will offer around 30 to 40 hours of gameplay, according to Crystal Dynamics.

That comes direct from the company’s Mike Brinker, who states that there’s going to be plenty to do in the follow-up to the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.

“Not only are we going wide, we’re going deeper,” explained Brinker (as reported by IGN). “We’re looking at 30 to 40 hours for the completionist. That delves into things like our skill trees, for example.”

“We used to have 15- or 16-odd skills. Now we have over 50 skills. And we have three different tracks you can upgrade, and they’re each separated by four tiers. And then you’re looking at things like the translation system and the crafting system that really bring about all those layers of her levelling up as a character.”

According to Brinker, the hub spaces in Rise of the Tomb Raider are also three times larger than those found in the reboot.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is launching on 10 November for Xbox One. The PC version will launch in early 2016, while the PS4 version won’t arrive until “Holiday 2016”.
