Rise and shine! High Voltage Ejector Bed flings you from your slumber

Even in the height of summer, with sun streaming through your window, it can hard to get out of bed. One inventor has solved the problem with this, a bed that literally throws you out of it.

YouTube sensation Colin Furze is no stranger to crazy inventions. He’s the man who made a DIY version of Wolverine’s adamantine claws, a mobility scooter capable of going 70mph, and even the world’s fastest toilet. And now he’s turned his hand to beds.

But not just any bed. He calls it the High Voltage Ejector Bed. The frame resembles a Murphy bed, but instead of folding backwards to sit flush with the wall, it pushes the bed forwards away from the wall. Two pistons are powered by an air compressor to push the bed forward. You can alter the power, depending on how tired you are.

Oh, he also added sirens and lights, to really make sure you don’t sleep in.

Furze told Mashable the bed took two weeks to build and worked on the first try. “Anyone who could still stay asleep when this goes off is not human,” he said.

Late on in the video, Furze includes a pair of shorts that he slides into, Wallace and Gromit-style. He says he might improve upon the bed by adding more advanced functions to get dressed and even to feed you. Let’s hope he doesn’t accidentally fling jam in anyone’s face.
