Fed up of iPhones getting all the fun accessories? Following the announcement of its official keyboard case for the PlayBook, RIM has unveiled a new accessory to partner its range of phones and tablets.

BlackBerry Music Gateway

The BlackBerry Music Gateway is in essence a simple Bluetooth music streamer. Plug it into your existing sound system via its 3.5mm jack (jack and RCA cables are included in the box) and connect it to your phone via Bluetooth and you can play your music. Music will pause automatically when you receive a call and with a range of 30ft you can wonder around your house, still using your phone for all its other duties. All very standard Bluetooth so far, but RIM has added a little extra - NFC.

NFC allows you to simply tap your phone on the Music Gateway to sync them up. It's again not new per se but it's a useful application of the technology. Only a few handsets currently have NFC but the BlackBerry 9900, BlackBerry 9370 and the Porsche designed BlackBerry P9881 all have it (along with many other non-BlackBerry handsets including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus).

Hitting the BlackBerry shop in June, you can pick up a Music Gateway for $49.99.
