Capcom has released a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 7, and it’s already giving us the willies.
The trailer follows an unknown female character as she makes her way through a seemingly abandoned house, hiding from a scary old lady holding a lantern.
"Set within the sinister plantation house in Dulvey, Louisiana, the Baker family, including Jack and Marguerite, were residents but no-one has seen or heard from them in a while. Where could they be? One thing is clear in the latest content to be shown from the game – there’s something not quite right within the plantation."
While the trailer uses footage from the actual game, some content has been “slightly adjusted in order to avoid story spoilers for consumers".

Capcom has confirmed that some sections of Resident Evil 7 will see you playing through the perspective of found-footage videotapes, adding more depth to the game’s setting and characters.
"What you see here is a filter that simulates the battered tapes that you’ll be 'watching' and playing through in the full game, similar to the tape you can find of the 'Sewer Gators' film crew in Beginning Hour," Capcom explained.
It is still unconfirmed whether beloved characters such as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine will make a return, but we do know the narrative takes place after the events of Resident Evil 6.
Resident Evil 7 is set to launch on January 24, 2017 for PS4, PSVR, Xbox One and PC.
