Report: Pebble to launch round smartwatch on September 23

The mysterious countdown timer on Pebble’s website has had us scratching our heads for a few days now.

Fortunately, a new report sheds light on exactly what Pebble is readying up for unveiling in two days’ time.

According to an Ubergizmo article, Pebble is preparing to launch a brand new smartwatch.

What’s more, the report claims Pebble will reveal a round-faced smartwatch.

That’s in stark contrast to its existing line of wearables, all of which ship with square faces.

“Our source has informed us that Pebble will be jumping on the round smartwatch bandwagon and will be releasing one of their own,” reads the report.

It continues: “It is said to arrive in two sizes and will sport a 0.9-inch screen.”

The device is tipped to ship with a metal finish, although the report claims it hasn’t had access to any photographs.

However, it says “from the description, it sounds like it could easily pass off as a regular timepiece made from metal.”

The countdown on Pebble’s website runs out on September 23, specifically at 6PM British Summer Time (10am PT).

That’s the same day Eric Migicovsky, Pebble’s CEO, is due to attend a TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco.
