Reports on Tuesday have claimed an improved version of the original Google Glass is being prepared by Google.
9to5Google has obtained information suggesting the tech giant is working on an ‘spin off’ version called the ’Enterprise Edition,’ which is designed for use in the workplace.
According to the report, the new headset – which, apparently, will not be the anticipated 2.0 version – will be a more rugged device that’ll look quite similar to the original.
Sources say it’ll fold ‘a regular pair of glasses,’ making it more portable than its predecessors. It’ll also be water resistant technology with ‘fewer buttons and ports as to have fewer placers for water and other material to seep in.’
There’ll also be a larger prism as well as an Intel Atom processor that offers improved performance, battery life and heat management.
However, even if you’re more intrigued by this device than the original, the chances are it’ll be pretty difficult to obtain. According to the report, it’ll be offered exclusively to Glass for Work partners.

The original Explorer Edition was pulled earlier this year following a largely negative reaction from the public. Google said it had ‘attracted too much attention‘ to the device, which is now under the supervision of Nest founder Tony Fadell.
Google is also thought to be working on a brand new version of the device, which will be available to consumers, but few details are known at this stage.
