Remix Mini claims to be the world’s first true Android PC

Android runs on phones, tablets and TVs, but this claims to be the world’s first true Android PC.

It’s called Remix Mini, and it’s powered by Android Lollipop, but with a ‘skin’ over the top. This is called Remix OS, and it promises to bridge the gap between mobile and desktop operating systems. It has a clean design and looks like a proper desktop OS, but at the same time it retains a definite Android feel.

It also uses Android apps, so immediately has more than 1.5 million to choose from.

As you can see, Remix Mini is tiny – it’s small enough to slip in a pocket. It also features a cool power button on the top – just tap it to power up your PC. It starts up in seconds.

It has all the usual PC capabilities like an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB ports. And it’s more efficient than a desktop – it only uses 10 watts, which should save you a bundle on your electricity bill.

It’s mighty cheap too. Get in on one of the early bird deals, and you can nab one for just $20 – that’s about £13! Obviously you’ll need to provide your own monitor, mouse and keyboard, but it’s still incredible value.

It runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit chip, and comes with either 8GB or 16GB of storage, and 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

It’s shot past its funding goal and will ship in October.
