Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have great potential, but what if you don't want to fit a whole new system to your motor?
Radiomize can give you similar smart skills but is much easier to fit. It's a cover that you slip onto your steering wheel. Once in place, it adds a touch pad to your steering wheel, letting you control music, news and more on your phone without taking your hands off the wheel.
It claims to learn what you like and to serve up more of that, hopefully without distracting you from the road. It also reads out your messages, so you won't have to glance at the screen.
Plus it's packed with safety features. It monitors your speed and has a careless driving monitor (which we presume means lane assist). And it's compatible with hearing aids.
You have to use the company's app, so how good it is really depends on how well-thought out the app is. And we're not sure whether it's a good idea showing you news on your smartphone while you're driving a car. Though the app is made so you can only scroll through messages when the car is stationary.
One watch battery will power it for up to a year. Or you can opt for a rechargeable battery.
It's passed its funding goal and will ship in August. If you want one, pledge $69 (£49) and it can be yours.
