Quantum Break live-action episodes will have to be streamed

Quantum Break’s live-action TV companion series will not be available on the game disc, Remedy Entertainment has confirmed.

Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break will use live-action cut-scenes to tell the game’s story, but it seems they won’t be available to those without an internet connection.

Speaking to Game Informer, Remedy’s Greg Louden said the decision was based on the size of video files and the game’s branching storyline.

“We have 40 different variations of the show in total. Basically your choices see it evolve and change, whether it’s from a junction choice or we have these things called ‘Quantum Ripples’ that essentially unlock deleted scenes from the show,” Louden said.

“The show length can change based on your decisions since some episodes are longer as a result and some episodes are shorter. It basically evolves and that’s why we needed to stream it.”
