Qualcomm's Quad-Core S4 'Krait' With Adreno 320 Benched, Beats Tegra3 And Exynos 4412

There are pretty much three players in the top end of the Android smartphone and tablet SoC (System on a Chip, referring to the CPU, GPU and other bits) market: Nvidia’s Tegra 3, as found in the likes of the Asus Transformer Pad and HTC One X, Samsung’s Exynos 4412 currently found only in the company’s Galaxy S3, and the mighty Snapdragon S4, found in its dual-core incarnation in the HTC One S among others.

However, the first two on that list are quad-core, and Qualcomm needs a four-chip part of its own to compete (in public perception if nothing else). We already knew it was on the way, but now the quad-core version of this awesome processor has been benchmarked, along with its accompanying next-gen Adreno 320 graphics component. Thanks to results for the LG E970 (LS970 if you’re looking at Sprint in the US) flagship phone, it’s pretty obvious that the Snapdragon SoC will be at the bleeding edge of ARM-chip performance both in graphics and pure processing power.

Frankly, we can’t wait for this powerful Snapdragon to make its way into as many phones and tablets as possible. Which one would you go for, or are you waiting for Nvidia and Samsung’s next-gen bits?

I was expecting more from Adreno 320, I thought it would be 2-3x faster than HTC One X.
Anyway, hardware is useless without software support so I'm waiting for next nVidia chip. It's the only one that gets best looking games even if it's not the fastest one.
