Purple Sony Xperia Z2 exclusive to O2

The purple Sony Xperia Z2 will be exclusively available at O2 tomorrow, May 1.

O2 has announced it has secured the purple Xperia Z2 for its O2 Refresh tariffs for the Sony Xperia Z2 release date tomorrow.

The purple version of the handset was announced at launch, but O2 has only just confirmed you’ll only be able to get it on its tariff range.

Of course, you’ll still be able to get the black and white versions elsewhere.

However, if you’re looking for a SIM-free version of the purple Xperia Z2 you can head to the Sony Mobile store, which is listing the handset in all three colours for £599.99.

O2 is offering the Xperia Z2 on contracts from £38 per month with unlimited minutes and texts, 2GB of 4G data with an upfront cost of £49.99. If you pay a little more you can get the phone for a £19.99 upfront cost on a £48 per month contract with unlimited texts/minutes and 8GB of 4G data.

Sony Xperia Z2 Features
The Sony Xperia Z2 features a 5.2-inch full 1080p HD display running on a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor CPU and 3GB of RAM.

It is powered by a 3,200mAh battery crammed into a body just 8.2mm thick, but still manages to feature a 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor with a Sony G Lens and Sony Bionz for mobile image processing engine.

These camera specs match the Sony Xperia Z1, but the Z2 adds new features like 4K video recording capability and new Timeshift and AR video modes.

Like the new Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, the Z2 is water and dust resistant and comes with NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity.
