Pure Voca unveiled as Jawbone Jambox rival

There’s yet another new player in the portable Bluetooth speaker space as radio specialist Pure formally unveils its first addition to the crowded market, the Pure Voca.

Following in the footsteps of devices such as the Jawbone Jambox and the Jabra Solemate, the Pure Voca is a compact, ruggedized speaker with Bluetooth connectivity options ideal for providing tunes while you’re out and about.

While most Bluetooth speakers are pitched at those after music on their trips to the beach or a picnic in the park, Pure’s timing in unveiling the Voca suggests the product is more attuned to drizzly afternoons in the garden or frost-laden winter walks in the country.

For those after a versatile speaker as at home on a living room shelf as being traipsed around the wilderness, the Voca features a smooth, rounded edged aluminium design accented with illuminated controls.

With the increasing popularity of audio streaming services, people want their music delivered to them on the go,” said Nick Hucker, Pure’s Senior Director of Global Sales and Marketing.

“We wanted to bring the quality associated with a home hi-fi system to a more compact form factor that fits in with the way people live their lives, which is why the Voca delivers the convenience of portable wireless streaming, with superior sound and great design.”

Hand tuned by Pure’s audio engineers, the Voca features dual passive radiators for a well-rounded, bass rich sound.

Ensuring your trips outdoors are kept audio enhanced, the Voca boasts ten hours of playback on a single charge. With a 10 metre range for Bluetooth connected devices, the speaker also features the obligatory AUX port for cabled input.

For those who just can’t wait until the summer months to snap up a new Bluetooth speaker, the Pure Coca is available through John Lewis and Currys now. The Beats Pill rival will set wannabe owners back a penny shy of £100.
