As part of its tenth anniversary celebrations, Pure has announced the Evoke Mio Union Jack, a loud and proud DAB radio bearing a Union Jack design. It costs £149.99 and goes on sale later this month.
The Pure Evoke Mio Union Jack offers the same features as the regular Mio, but comes with a snazzy flag-waving finish. Unlike some less classy items bearing our nation's insignia, the Evoke Mio looks quite classy in the flesh, with a leather finish adding a touch of texture.
The radio has a single 3in full-range driver. It's mono, but Pure's sound is warm and bassy enough to fill kitchens and small rooms. It uses a 2-line yellow-on-black OLED display, and can be used away from the mains if you buy the optional ChargePAK E1. A higher-end model in the popular Evoke range, it has a dark blue leather-bound handle to make carrying the thing around comfy.
Not keen on the Union Jack look? The Pure Evoke Mio also comes in a variety of other finishes, including block shades and a neat flower pattern designed by Orla Kiely.
The Pure Evoke Mio Union Jack will be available on the High Street later this month, and Pure is producing an additional limited run of 500 numbered editions. But you'd have to be very good friends with Pure to get hold of one of those.
We'll be back with the full review of the Pure Evoke Mio Union Jack soon. What do you think - yum or yuck?
